Lovely hostel. Nice rooms and super nice lounge/ kitchen / dining area/ outside area. The lounge is super cosy with the fire going at night and the free choc pudding is a bonus. It can be as social as you make it. Very clean. Decent bathrooms. Good prices for washing and nice you can hang your things to dry outside (although not in the weather I experienced) The reception staff are super friendly and can help with anything. Had a bit of an issue during out of staff hours but Geordie was super quick to contact me and resolve it as soon as she heard which for me makes it a super thoughtful backpackers. I felt like they genuinely cared about everyone there. It’s slightly out of town but if you have legs you’ll survive

Everything was fantastic. The hostel staff created a social, relaxed, but professional / well-run atmosphere. It was an optimal mix -- social hostel that attracted a lot of backpackers in their 20s / 30s, but since many people are there for hiking & are waking up early, it wasn't a party hostel where your roommates are all out until 1AM or later (although if that's what you're after, people definitely did go out). Lots of spots to hang out, meet people, or find your own little corner both inside and outside. The kitchen was large and clean, loved the hot chocolate cake event every evening. Also an incredible value for price

Very nice hostel, very 'old school', with a large living room and a nice garden. The showers and toilets were super clean, the area felt safe. The hostel is 15 minutes walk from the bus terminal, 20 minutes walk from a Woolworth. They also serve chocolate pudding and ice cream in the evening which is super nice. The premises might look a bit old, but at the end of the day the place is clean, the area is safe and it's really good value for money and that it's what is important. Would recommend to friends!

The hostel is in a quiet street but only a 10 - 15 minute walk from town. It has a lovely garden at the front with tables and seating etc to enjoy some sun/fresh air. Indoors it also has a relaxing lounge area with lots of books and games for rainy or colder days. And of course we loved the chocolate pudding at 8pm! We stayed in a twin room for a couple of nights and then stayed for one night in a quad share room a few days later and both were spacious and had opening windows.

Everything - we’ve been travelling for over a year now and this was definitely a top 3 hostel for us! Comfortable and very well thought out hostel with loads of seating areas, great cooking facilities and of course amazing chocolate pudding. The staff are lovely and friendly and the place was very clean. Loads of board games, chilled music on all the time and respectful guests.
